Our Year 1, 2, and 3 girls had an unforgettable visit from four elite Hockeyroos—Alyssa Smith, Georgina West, Jolie Sertorio, and Courtney Schonell!
The players spoke openly about their individual journeys into hockey—from how they first picked up a stick to the dedication and perseverance required to reach the highest level of the sport. Students listened intently as the athletes shared stories about:
- Their pathways into representative hockey
- The challenges they have faced along the way
- What it means to represent Australia
- Their daily routines, training schedules, and commitments as elite athletes
Our students had the opportunity to ask thoughtful questions and learn more about the lives of high‑performance players. There was plenty of excitement as the players encouraged families to come and watch them compete in the FIH Pro League, currently being hosted in Hobart.
One of the highlights of the visit was the chance for students to have photos taken with the Hockeyroos and collect autographs—an unforgettable experience for many of our young sports enthusiasts.
A huge thank you goes to our students for their enthusiasm and to our teachers for supporting this wonderful opportunity. We are grateful to the Hockeyroos for taking the time to inspire our community and spark even more passion for hockey among our youngest learners.
