Our Origins
Founded in 1892 by the Sisters of the Church, our school has embraced Christian ideals, focusing on nurturing the spiritual lives of our students. We aim to foster a sense of belonging, empathy, and purpose, guiding our students to live out their faith in practical and meaningful ways.

Service Learning
Service learning is a cornerstone of our spiritual education. Students engage in community service projects that highlight the importance of helping others and addressing societal issues. These experiences cultivate a sense of purpose and equip students to make a positive difference in the lives of those around them, embodying the compassionate heart of our faith.
Faith and life
Our Chaplain
Reverend Kate Boughton is the Chaplain at St Michael’s Collegiate School in Hobart. She was ordained as a Deacon in 2008 and a Priest in 2010. Before coming to Collegiate her roles have seen her work extensively with children, youth, young adults and their families, both here in Tasmania as Assistant Curate at St David’s Cathedral and Diocesan Ministry Assistant, and in Melbourne as an Associate Minister at St Jude’s Anglican Church.
