Seeking Support

Over recent years, we have taken important steps to acknowledge the harm experienced by some members of our community in the past. We are committed to recognising this history as an essential part of building a safer, more supportive future for all Collegiate students — past, present and future.

We also remain committed to ensuring survivors and those affected by trauma have access to appropriate, confidential support. Collegiate has engaged independent counsellor Pauline Ryan, who has nearly 40 years’ experience supporting adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse.

If you would like to seek support or share anything, you can leave a message here. Your message will be sent directly to Pauline Ryan only and will not be seen by the School or stored on our servers. This service is fully funded by Collegiate.

If you know someone who may benefit from this support, please feel free to share this information. Former students and families are also welcome to contact the Principal directly on +61 3 6211 4908 or principal@collegiate.tas.edu.au.

National Redress Scheme

The National Redress Scheme (Scheme) was created by the Australian Government in response to the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse. The Scheme provides acknowledgement and support to people who have experienced institutional child sexual abuse (CSA).

Collegiate joined the Scheme via the Anglican Representative (National Redress Scheme) Limited (ARNRSL) and the Minister for Families and Social Services made a declaration formalising the inclusion of Collegiate in the Scheme via ARNRSL, with effect from 29 March 2019.

Collegiate has partnered with the Australian Childhood Foundation (ACF) and the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations and achieved independent, national accreditation from the Australian Childhood Foundation (ACF) for the Safeguarding Children Program.
