Staff Spotlight – Kate Boughton

Reverend Kate is our School Chaplain

What do you love about your job?

I love that I get to journey alongside people, whether it is by supporting or by teaching. I get to walk alongside people, help them think about God and our world, to wrestle with big questions, and complain about the weather. I love that and feel it is a great privilege.

What made you want to study Teaching?

It was part of accepting the role as Chaplain here at Collegiate, but if you ask my mother, it was inevitable.

What is one thing you would go back and tell your 14 year-old self?

I think I would say, “you were right, you didn’t need to know exactly what you were going to do after Year 12. It’ll be fine”.

What is one thing you would love to do, if you could you do anything?

I would love to go on a cooking tour of Europe.

If you could invite anyone to dinner, who would be seated at your table?

Yotam Ottolenghi (and he can cook dinner too), Michelle Obama, Bill Bailey, and Liz Ellis.
