Save Our Rivulet – Service Learning

This term in Prep, our Service-Learning project has been led by the students’ interest in the Hobart Rivulet platypus. During our weekly Muddy Maths program, we have spent time looking for the platypus.

After the heavy rains, the students noticed there was a lot of rubbish in the Rivulet, and they decided to make a collaborative piece of artwork that we could turn into a poster to stop people littering and to raise awareness of the platypus’ habitat.

We have turned their poster into badges, and today we held a stall, selling these to raise money for Wildcare’s Keep Wildlife Safe fund. So far, we have raised $308!!

Thanks to everyone who bought a badge and supported our cause.
