Johns Group Tasmania Boarding Scholarship

St Michael’s Collegiate School has a long history of providing a home away from home for its boarders. Our Boarding House offers a nurturing environment where respect towards others and a happy community atmosphere prevail. The Boarding House is home to domestic and international students from Year 6 to Year 12.

The Johns Group Tasmania Scholarship covers 50% of Boarding fees and is tenable until the student completes Year 12. Applicants can also apply for Collegiate Scholarships that cover tuition fees.

Closing date: Friday 24 February 2023

Please note, applicants must be Australian Citizens or permanent Australian Residents.

The scholarship is available to:

New students entering Collegiate in Years 6 to 12 in 2024;
Students who are willing to embrace opportunities at the School and can demonstrate ability to make significant contributions to the School and boarding community;
Students showing general academic competence;
Students who would otherwise be unable to attend because of their remote residential location; and
Students who may otherwise not be able to attend without financial assistance.
This scholarship will be awarded based on application and interview.

Financial Circumstances Declaration

At Collegiate, we offer a rich learning environment shaped by Christian values, where students are free to dream, equipped to achieve and set for life.
Our values of Courage, Integrity and Compassion drive what we do and our Scholarship / Bursary Programs aim to provide the pathway for students to attend Collegiate where their family would not otherwise be able to enrol them without this financial assistance. We offer this support in good faith and understand this process is not an easy process for families and welcome a conversation about your individual circumstances.
Assistance given through our Scholarship or Bursary Programs is limited and is intended to reduce the cost to some families for their child’s tuition fees to a level that they should be better able to afford.
The assistance will be provided within the following limits and conditions:

1. Families receiving scholarship or bursary support are expected to maintain their
fee account at all times.

2. This assistance applies to fees only. Any extra charges to the account must be
paid when they fall due.

3. Students of families receiving support are expected to maintain reasonable
academic effort and adhere to the School rules.

4. If the information provided is deemed to attempt to mislead us or fraudulent, the
Scholarship / Bursary application will automatically be revoked.

5. Scholarship / Bursary support is strictly confidential and evidence of disclosure
may result in the support being discontinued.
